Web Metrics Analyst
Job Description
Ernst & Young 'E-Channels' (internet) team is seeking an experienced Metrics Analyst to join our Cleveland, OH or New Jersey based group.
The Metrics Analyst is responsible for determining the appropriate measures and associated metrics for an assignment, then planning and implementing metrics collection, analysis, documentation, and communication to stakeholders.
This individual is responsible for helping to identify key website performance indicators that are consistent with our online and offline Firm, Area and E-channel goals.
The Metrics Analyst serves as a role model by demonstrating commitment to commonly adopted processes and standards for metrics analysis both at EY and industry-wide as well as developing best practices in site measurement tools.
This person works with many areas of the organization, globally and virtually, and has working knowledge of online analytics measures, terminology and tools. This person may act as a participant of a reporting team.
Essential Functions of the Job:
· Conduct metrics needs assessment, planning, collection, analysis, interpretation and reporting, inclusive of both quality and productivity metrics.
· Design, program and implement new reporting documents and processes as needed.
· Produce and present to senior leadership metrics plans, estimation reports, and/or metrics reports as top-line summaries coupled with more detailed reporting and interpretation, as required.
· Analyze accuracy of operational performance statistics and data; ability to recognize, trouble-shoot, and correct data problems and inconsistencies.
· Communicate data anomalies and performance contrary to goal objectives with management.
· Identify and track trends in metrics and be able to identify improvements to service based on usage and traffic patterns.
· Keep aware of new site measurement tools and assess potential of using such for detailed measurement.
· Manage upgrading of reporting application features and functionality to maintain currency with technological progress and business needs.
· Synthesize individual analyses into a global perspective by reviewing across-measures and looking for quality linkages.
· Respond to queries for and regarding metrics reports and analyses.
· Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders; manage stakeholder expectations.
· Motivate other team members; leads a team of two (2) Measurement Analysts
· Promote teamwork; coach and guide others.
· Successfully work on global, virtual teams.
Analytical/Decision Making Responsibilities:
Develops an understanding of the key business and financial drivers that determine the firm’s success and aligns measurement activities with those drivers.
Proactively identifies and addresses new reporting documents and processes. Proactively identifies, corrects and communicates data problems and inconsistencies.
Can identify alternative solutions when current systems or processes do not meet business or stakeholder needs.

Required Experience:
· Practical knowledge of probability and statistics, quality measurement
· Familiarity with online analytics measures, terminology and applications (Site Stat, Webtrends preferred)
· Experience in developing spreadsheets and databases for the capture, assembly, and graphical presentation of metrics; advanced Excel skills, including complex spreadsheets and data manipulation preferred
· Ability to distill large amounts of information into management reports

Education Required:
Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline, or equivalent work experience
