Job Description

comScore is seeking a Data Analyst to be a contributing member of our Custom Analytics Media team, at our Reston, VA headquarters.

 

Data Analyst, Media Solutions – Custom Analytics

 

Location: Reston, VA

 

What it is:

Data Analyst role for proficient and dedicated person with experience in analysis of consumer data and/or large data sets with a focus on creation and automation of statistical models.  Analysts will extract, manipulate, and analyze data in order to provide reports and findings for various custom projects. In this role, we need someone who is more than just task-oriented, but understands how to make visualizations out of data sets.

 

How you fit into the company structure:

  • Support the Sales and Client Service teams by producing high-end ad-hoc analyses to support sales initiatives, within SQL Server and Excel.
  • Extract, transform and analyze data from corporate warehouse, then generate final reports and key findings.
  • Will be required to interact directly with internal and external clients.
  • Implement efficient and repeatable processes for producing ad-hoc analyses.
  • Will have a good understanding of the market, methodology, and technology that make up each of the products in the product suite.
  • Recognize data issues and work efficiently with other internal departments to get problems resolved and implement future safeguards.

Required Experience:

Skills that we’ll need you to have include:

·         SQL Server experience plus proficiency with numbers/statistics is a must.

  • Strong analytic skills that include analysis design and execution.
  • Knowledge of relational databases and methods for efficiently retrieving data from them.
  • Experience in data analysis and problem solving with large amounts of data
  • Must be able to maintain a “Big Picture” perspective.
  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative subject such as Statistics, Engineering, Economics, etc.
  • 1-3 years professional experience
  • Ability to autonomously manage simultaneous projects.
  • Experience with panel data and/or Internet behavior data a plus.
  • Adaptable person who can deal with a fast pace business environment.
  • General knowledge of how the Internet works.
  • Must be a self-starter with strong team building skills
  • Experience in leading or managing a project team is preferred.
